Cystatin C as an Early Marker of Cardiorenal Syndrome Type 1 in Patients Admitted with Acute Heart Failure

چکیده
The development of acute renal dysfunction in patients with heart failure is known as cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) type 1. Cystatin C has emerged an alternative to serum creatinine which helps detect early deterioration the function, and turn help initiate necessary interventions management prevent kidney injury (AKI). This a prospective observational study was conducted Department Cardiology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. blood sample collected on day admission for cystatin creatinine, then subsequently followed days 2 7, identify Cardiorenal 1 developed 18 (35.3%) 51 admitted CCU. Most were men had median age 57.61±12.99 years. Patients who AKI higher level (1.58±0.191mg/L vs. 0.971±0.344 mg/L) also revealed that stage severity KDIGO correlated C. Serum proven good biomarker diagnosis

Cardiorenal Syndrome in Acute Heart Failure Syndromes
Impaired cardiac function leads to activation of the neurohumoral axis, sodium and water retention, congestion and ultimately impaired kidney function. This sequence of events has been termed the Cardiorenal Syndrome. This is different from the increase in cardiovascular complications which occur with primary kidney disease, that is, the so-called Renocardiac Syndrome. The present review discus...

Renal dysfunction is highly prevalent in patients with heart failure. Furthermore, worsening renal function in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF), the so-called cardiorenal syndrome, impacts short and long-term morbidity and mortality. In recent years, more evidence has surfaced from clinical trials and heart failure registries that a complex cross-talk between the kidney an...
متن کاملComparative Assessment of Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) and Cystatin C as Early Biomarkers for Early Detection of Renal Failure in Patients with Hypertension
Background: Hypertension is one the most common causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD). One of the major concerns in hypertensive patients is early detection of renal disorders. In the past, serum creatinine (Scr) concentration was used as a marker of kidney function, but it proffers a late reflection of reduced glomerular filtration rate. Cystatin C and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocal...
متن کاملRole of Pulsatile Hemodynamics in Acute Heart Failure: Implications for Type 1 Cardiorenal Syndrome
Heart failure has become a major health problem worldwide with a substantial financial burden mainly from hospitalization due to acute heart failure syndrome (AHFS). A considerable number of patients hospitalized for the treatment of AHFS experience significant worsening of renal function, which is now recognized as type 1 cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) and is associated with worse outcomes. Curren...
متن کاملCardiorenal Syndrome Type 1: Renal Dysfunction in Acute Decompensated Heart Failure.
OBJECTIVE To present a review of cardiorenal syndrome type 1 (CRS1). METHODS Review of the literature. RESULTS Acute kidney injury occurs in approximately one-third of patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) and the resultant condition was named CRS1. A growing body of literature shows CRS1 patients are at high risk for poor outcomes, and thus there is an urgent need to under...
